On a cold Wednesday our Year 7, 8 and 9 rugby girls travelled to Richmond Rugby Club which has a long tradition of women’s rugby, to play in a school’s tournament.
Unfamiliar with the particular touch rugby rules adopted for this tournament we struggled at first but throughout the day both the U12 and U14 teams got better and better. The U14’s were outclassed in their first match but played the same team again in their final match of the day and only lost by one score.
The opposition coach expressed how amazed she was at their progress from the first match.
The U12’s also had an outstanding upward learning curve which landed them the silver medal! A fantastic tournament for eleven schools with brilliant HPS representation.
