On Thursday 12^th September the Year 8 football team played the first fixture of the season against a very strong Queens School from Hertfordshire. With a number of boys playing their first match for the school, Holland Park made a very strong start playing some excellent, composed football. This was pleasing to see as 'playing the easy pass', 'playing backwards to then progress forwards' are all things that we have been practicing in our extracurricular training sessions. Queens school came back into the game well and although won convincingly it was extremely pleasing to see all boys work hard for each and no stage give up. A special mention must go to Maximo Frojan-Fernandez who typified this attitude and played extremely well at right back in first game for the school.
